Tancook Story.......

This was our first visit to Big Tancook Island, off the South shore of Nova Scotia.
Yet somehow the surroundings, the shorelines, the ocean, the boats and the fishing huts,
stirred a sense of familiarity and intrigue within me as well as a wistful yearning for the way things were,
even if they never really were that way..
I was born in Taiwan, an island in the south China Sea, where I grew up in the northern inland city of Taipei.
However, my fondest childhood memories were our holidays at the island's southern coastal town.
Four decades later, halfway around the world, on Big Tancook Island, I was
captivated once again by the coastal life, the comings and goings of vessels,
the surrounding ocean and tides and the natural beauty of the island and the inhabitants' homes.
